Refunds, Returns & Warranty

We know that a memorial is never just a purchase. If something isn't right, we want to make it right with patience and care. This policy explains how returns, refunds, and our lifetime seal warranty work.

The short version: You can return an unused chime within 30 days for a full refund. Once a loved one's remains have been placed inside, we can't accept a return, but the airtight seal is covered by our lifetime warranty, and we'll replace anything that arrives damaged or defective.

30-day returns

If you change your mind, you may return your chime within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price, as long as:

The inner urn has never been filled or opened for use.
The chime is unused, undamaged, and in its original keepsake box with all parts included.

To start a return, email us at hello@seeyaontheotherside.com with your order number. We'll send you return instructions. Please don't send items back without contacting us first.

Once remains are placed inside

Out of respect for your loved one and for health and safety reasons, we can't accept returns of any chime that has held cremated remains. If you run into any problem after filling your chime, please reach out. In most cases we can help by sending a replacement part, and the seal itself is covered for life (see below).

Damaged, defective, or incorrect items

If your chime arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We'll send a replacement or the needed part at no cost, or issue a full refund if you prefer. You won't need to return the damaged item unless we ask.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll email you to confirm. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days. Original shipping charges (if any) are non-refundable, and return shipping for change-of-mind returns is the customer's responsibility unless the item was damaged or incorrect.

Lifetime seal warranty

The airtight seal on the stainless-steel inner urn is guaranteed for the lifetime of the product, for as long as you own it. If the seal ever fails, whether from wear, weather, or anything else, we will repair or replace the inner urn or its lid and gasket at no cost to you, including shipping.

To make a warranty claim, email us with your order number (or name and approximate purchase date) and a description or photo of the issue. If an inner urn needs to be replaced, we'll send the new one to you first and include simple guidance for gently transferring the remains, so your loved one never leaves your care.

Other components

The lantern shell, chimes, solar cap, battery, and LED light are covered against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from delivery. Normal weathering and patina of the bronze finish, and damage from misuse, accidents, or alterations, aren't covered. The rechargeable battery is a replaceable part, and we're happy to sell replacements at any time.

Shipping

Every chime ships gift-boxed. Standard shipping is free within the United States and typically arrives in 5 to 8 business days after your order ships. Expedited shipping (2 to 3 business days) is available at checkout. You'll receive tracking by email as soon as your order is on its way.
